Cycling usually appears in statistics as one of the most practiced sports in Spain, but it has been a few years since its practice is not limited to the road. During recent times the popularity of the off-road bicycle, has grown, and the Galician councils have been encouraged to organise gatherings that, besides offering an attractive activity to participants and spectators, are unbeatable for the promotion of their municipality.
This is the case of the first edition of the BTT of the City of Coles, in Ourense, a meeting that was born with the intention of permanence to which Revi has wanted to lend its support. The race takes place over a distance of more than 42 kilometres that includes several of the most beautiful corners of the area, and was presented at the Marcos Valcárcel Cultural Center by the mayor of Coles, Manuel Rodríguez, along with the representative of the Provincial Council and two members of the Cyclist Anachronic Bike Club.
The date chosen for the inaugural competition is April 23, 2017 and participation has been limited to two hundred people. According to Víctor Arias, of the Anacrónicos Bike, in order to prevent a massification that could compromise the main objective of the race: that its participants enjoy the route.
